Linux is open source, completely costumizable, has stronger security, and does not force anything onto you that you do not want like AI, advertisements and programs/apps that you will never use.
You can completely get rid of Windows and install Linux onto your machine, or you can install Linux alongside Windows (called a dual boot). You can even easily install Linux on to a USB thunb drive or a CD (called a LiveUSB or LiveCD) to give it a try before installing it onto your machine.
